How to prevent a return to the death penalty

About the course: 

This training focuses on how to prevent the return of the death penalty in your country. 

This e-training is organized into 4 sequences and a conclusion:

• Sequence 1 – Understand How to Monitor Early Indicators of a Return to the Death Penalty
• Sequence 2 – Classify Risk Levels and Respond Appropriately to the Potential Return of the Death Penalty
• Sequence 3 – Form Alliances and Develop Counter-Narratives to Combat Pro-Death Penalty Arguments
• Sequence 4 – Engage political leaders effectively and protect personal safety as an abolitionnist
• Conclusion

Each sequence is organized by theoretical input, case studies, exercises and additional resources.

The methodology behind this e-training is based on a guide published by the World Coalition Against the Death Penalty in 2025 following a 6 year project that aimed to learn effective strategies to prevent a return to the death penalty.
